Meaning:
"Victory of the people"
Origin:
Greek
Nikki is our familys first dog. She was born in August 2001. Nikki is a Affenpinscher X. She thinks she is the boss, and always keeps the dogs in line. She can be tempermental, and has alot of personality. When we leave we have to make sure she is caged or she rips any paper she can find. Sadly, like most small dogs she thinks she can take on any dog or person, so it makes her a little difficult. She has became best friends with Razzle, and its the only dog she will play with non-stop.
Meaning:
"Of the Oak"
"Beloved one"
Origin:
Celtic/Gaelic
Dewey is our familys second dog. He was born on May-24-2003. Dewey is a White German Shepherd. He is my dog (Ashley) and I am grateful to have him. He was rescued from BCARL when he was just 8 weeks old. His story was that a breeder who bred WGSDs had a female (his mom) that was in heat and accidently got bred by a Labrador. He was suppose to be surrendered along with his sister, which never showed up. We are unsure if it was a lie or not but after many years of research we believe he is a purebred WGSD. He has the true shepherd temperment through and through. The only thing that makes him a little different is that his ears did not completly stand. At the time I did not know of posting so he is left with semi-erect ears. He is an awesome guard and is aloof with strangers. He has taken alot of work to get him as socialized as he is now. He has been through alot with our family, and always seems to know my moods. I love him dearly and couldn't imagine my life without him in it. When I was younger I taught him german commands, which he still knows but is a little rusty on. He is more content at being where I am but always having alert. He was diagnosed with Hemangeoparacytoma in April 2010, it was removed and has not come back and we hope that it never does.
Rebel
Meaning:
"Someone who exhibits great independence in thought and action"
Origin: None
Rebel is a Pug/Boxer mix who I got after my beloved Rhoco died. It is weird who everything feel into place with him. I had been looking at dogs on a ad site and came across his picture. This had been before Rhoco had died and also three months prior my brother passed away from cancer. If you read about Rhoco on the "In Memory" page you will see that he was certified as a therapy dog. When Rhoco died, I went back online this being a few months later and thought it was too weird that Rebel looked alike to Rhoco. I decided to contact to owner just to inquire about the dog and get more pictures of him. I was not sure then if it would even possible to get him since he was 3 hours one way and I had never driven that far and did not have a reliable vehicle to do so. I asked many questions about Rebel and everything they said reminded me of my boy Rhoco. I then discussed it with my mom and we both found it odd that I came across this dog who was so alike to that of Rhoco. Shortly after Rhoco's passing I talked with a friend who was a nurse that took care of my brother and discussed the odd way of finding Rebel's picture prior to Rhoco's death and him still being listed a few months later After Rhoco. The friend offered to drive the full 6hr. round trip to get Rebel. He turned out to be alot alike to Rhoco, bery loving(sometimes too much) stable temperment, and just has a general likability. I always get complements on him. We think that someway my brother needed Rhoco since he layed with my brother now and again through his sickness. He was meant to be with my brother and I was meant to find Rebel. Sometimes we find ourselves slipping and calling him Rhoco, Subtle things remind us deeply of Rhoco and the similarities are more than a few.

Girlie
Meaning: "Girl"
Origin: English
Girlie is a Pug/Sheltie(and a few other unknown breeds as parents were both mixed), almost 4 years old. She was born on St. Patricks day (March, 17, 2008) She is technially shared between my friend and I although I take primary care of her. She is a pretty girl, a mischevious thing, and a terrible barker. Sometimes I think she just barks to bark. Maybe she likes to hear herself...

Meaning of Nu-Nu: "Kind"
Origin: Vietnamese
Meaning of Vito: "Life"
Origin: Latin
Nu-Nu is one of many cats Iv'e had over the years. She was born in 2002. She is an outside cat, she comes by to eat and is usually off again. She lives the good life. She is only 1 of 2 cats that Iv'e had live so long. (Her mom lived to be about 7+ years old and died due to an accident) So I feel it may have been in her genes to keep away from cars.
I fould Vito up at a trailer park where many stray cats are. He was born in 2010. There are few residents there now, and people just left them to survive. A lady who recently was diagnosed with cancer was feeding them but she couldn't afford it anymore. I fould him sick with upper respiratory infection and took him home. He spent a few weeks recovering with meds and food. He was neutered and since we couldn't find a home for him, he lives here with us. Nu-Nu is still not happy about that!
